From 15 to 30 August 2026, the 14
th International PEACE Camp organized by the German Red Cross was held in Vogelsang, in the heart of Germany's Eifel National Park. The camp aims to promote peace, humanity, intercultural dialogue, and understanding of the fundamental values of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
As part of the educational segment, participants explored themes of peace, humanity, human rights, and the basics of international humanitarian law, alongside the principles and structure of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. This year focus was on peace and interculturalism, with a special emphasis on understanding the causes of war and forced migration.
The practical part of the program took place in and around five Red Cross facilities in Vogelsang. These included the Red Cross Museum—the largest of its kind in Germany with an exhibition space of around 1,000 square meters. Participants also visited Bonn, Cologne and Aachen.
The Croatian Red Cross was represented by Anastazija Petričić, volunteer from the City branch organization of Red Cross Split.
