International Committee of the Red Cross

The International Committee of the Red Cross (the ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization that provides humanitarian assistance and protection to victims of war and armed violence. During situations of conflict, the ICRC is responsible for directing and coordinating the Movement's international relief activities. It strives to prevent sufferings by promoting and strengthening respect for the international humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles.
