Internal structure of the Croatian Red Cross

The Croatian Red Cross is a national, humanitarian and voluntary non-governmental organization comprising County, City and Municipality Red Cross branches, acting in compliance with the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and enjoys special protection and care of the Republic of Croatia.

The organization’s name is: "the Croatian Red Cross".

In compliance with the decision made by the General Assembly, within the Croatian Red Cross there are:
- 110 Municipality and City branches of Red Cross and
- 20 County branches of Red Cross that are separate legal entities.
The City Red Cross branch of Zagreb has a status of a County branch as well.
Municipality, City and County branches can have organizational units with no legal status under the Statute, and Red Cross branches that are legal entities have the following bodies: Assembly, President and Vice-Presidents, Board and Supervisory Board. Members of the said bodies can be elected only from among the Croatian Red Cross members, and perform their duties on voluntary basis. Every local branch has a Director who performs the function professionally.
