The Act on Protection of the Emblem and Name of the Red Cross
The House of Representatives of the Croatian Parliament adopted the Act on Protection of the Emblem and Name of the Red Cross on 30 July 1993. The Act was made public in the Croatian Official Gazette NN 75/93.
The Act defines the conditions and means of the use and protection of the emblem and name of the Red Cross in peace, war or any other armed conflict.
The emblem of the Red Cross is a red cross set on a white background (Article 2) and it can be used as “a sign of recognition, affiliation and protection, in compliance with the Geneva Conventions, in the circumstances and under conditions defined by this Act” (Article 3).
This Act and penal law predict penalties for the misuse of the emblem and the name of the Red Cross.
