Two important International Red Cross and Red Crescent Meetings are taking place in Nairobi from 18 to 25 November. The General Assembly of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies is taking place from 18 to 21 November, and the Council of Delegates of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is taking place from 23 to 25 November.

General Assembly - the 17th session

New President and four Vice Presidents as well as 20 National Societies for the Governing Board of the IFRC will be elected by the General Assembly.
The General Assembly will also adopt Strategy 2020.

Council of Delegates

At the Council of Delegates, representatives of the National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the IFRC and the International Committee of the Red Cross will discuss future humanitarian challenges and adopt policies and strategies on major humanitarian issues.
